About this project

Yvonne Wang began playing clarinet at the age of eight. At ten years old, she was admitted to the Elementary/Middle School Affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music as the only clarinet student. After moving to the United States, she was admitted to Juilliard Pre-College Division where she studied under Mr. Alan Kay. She is now pursuing her bachelor degree of music under Charles Neidich at the Juilliard School.

Yvonne is a laureate of multiple international and local competitions, including the Gran Canaria International Clarinet Competition and National YoungArts Foundation. She has performed in various concert halls such as He Luting Concert Hall in Shanghai, Carnegie Hall, Kaufman Music Center, Dekelboum Concert Hall, Church of the Holy Apostles, Washington National Cathedral, Alice Tully Hall, etc. In 2022, Yvonne made her orchestra debut with the Summit Symphony Orchestra as the winner of the Young Artist competition. Her other awards include first prize of 7ème Concours international de musique “Nouvelles étoiles” and first prize of 2023 Fanny Mendelssohn International Competition. The festivals she attended include Verbier Festival, Aspen Music Festival, National Orchestra Institute, etc.

Apart from clarinet, Yvonne enjoys writing music composition. She won the 2021 Achievement Award Competition of Westminster Conservatory of Music with her composition.
