About this project
Born in 2001, the Korean Clarinetist Ahn Yubin started to play the clarinet at 7 years old with his teacher Kim Dong-Jin member of Philadelphia Orchestra. When he was in his early teens, he won first prizes in many of Korea’s representative competitions, including Seoul National University Woodwind Competition and Ihwa Kyunghyang Music Competition.
During international competitions, he won the grand prize at the Tallinn International Competition in Estonia when he was 13 years old, he won the first place at the Osaka International Music Competition, awarded “Journalist’s Best Special” award and “Audience’s s Best Performance” Award.
He graduated with honors from the Yewon Arts Middle school and Seoul Arts High School. Thanks to this, he was able to take master classes with Yehuda Gilad. When he was 19 years old, he took master classes with Italian clarinetist Alessandro Carbonare and French clarinetist Florent Héau and then he decided to go Europe to study classical music more deeply. After being taught by Florent Héau, he was accepted in Nicolas Baldeyrou’s class (Assistant. Franck Amet) at the CNSMD de Lyon in France.
At the age of 20, he played at l’auditaurium Lyon as a guest member of the Lyon National Symphony Orchestra and the Lyon National Opera Symphony Orchestra in France. Ahn Yubin is currently in his third year of his Bachelor’s of music performance degree.
