Xiaozhou is currently studying at Fontys Academy of the Arts in the class of Professor Eddy Vanoosthuyse. Before he studied at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music, Chengdu, Sichuan, China.

In 2023 he won with his trio the 2nd prize of Nico Vis chamber music competition in Tilburg (NL).  In 2016 he won the Third Prize of Professional Group B of the 3rd International Mozart Clarinet Competition of Central Conservatory of Music. In 2015 he won the First Prize of Youth Group A of Chongqing China International Clarinet Arts Festival. In 2011 he won the First Prize of Elementary School Group of 1st Woodwinds Competition of Sichuan Province.

In 2020 he was the principal clarinetist of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Sichuan Conservatory of Music and participated in the 9th Sichuan University Students Art Festival, November 2020.
