About this project

Alice McDonald is in her final year of undergraduate studies at The Juilliard School as a student of Charles Neidich. Previously, she attended Juilliard’s Pre-College, where she studied with Alan Kay. Alice is a member of the 2024 Verbier Festival Orchestra and has participated in other festivals including the National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute, Yellow Barn’s Young Artists Program, the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival and the Sarasota Music Festival. Alice was named a 2020 National Young Arts Foundation Finalist in classical music, was the winner of the Juilliard Pre-College Open Concerto Competition in 2020, performing Nielsen’s Clarinet Concerto with the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra, and was a finalist in Juilliard’s Copland Clarinet Concerto Competition in 2022.
