About this project

Yongjin Shin was born in Busan, Korea. He received his first clarinet lessons at the age of 13.His musical studies took him to Seoul, where he studied for a bachelor’s degree at the Korean University of Arts where he graduated. To expand his musical knowledge, he traveled to Germany. He studied a master in clarinet at the University of Music in Bremen with Prof. Marco Thomas. During his master’s studies, he completed a one-year internship at Mitteldeutsch Kammerpilehamonie. He then went to Antwerp in Belgium to study for postgraduate studies with Anellien Van Weuwe. He later returned to Germany and studied the concert exam in Bremen.

He won many competitions in Korea, including first place at the MBC competition in Korea. Yongjin has experience performing with the orchestra in Belgium and Korea and has been invited to perform at the Debussy Festival in Belgium. He is currently working in the Meckelenburg Vorpomennen Police Orchestra since 2022.
