About this project
Jinkyun Kim started to play the clarinet when he was 12 years old. He got a middle school degree at Yewon school which in South Korea, and he learned from Jerry Chae and Changhee Lee in Korea. When he is 15 years old, he went to Paris, France to CRR de Paris and studied with Florent Héau and Alexandre Chabod untill 2021. From 2021, he studied with Annelien Van Wauwe at Royal Conservatoire in Antwerp Belgium for 1 year and for 2 years at the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague. Now he studying in Antwerpen conservatory.
He won the 1st prize at the Picardie Competition in d’Amien France in 2016, and 2nd prize at the International Competition in Osaka, Japan in 2015. Lastely, he went Semi-Final round at Lisbon competition, and 3rd round at Jacques Lancelot competition and Cluj competition. Now he is currently challenging himself with many competitions.
He played a recital at 2023 summer in South Korea from invitation from GalleryA. In June 2021 at Paris, he performed Philippe Hersant’s Ostelied for the Woodwind quintet with Piano behind of the composer. In 2019, he performed Stockhausen’s opera Samstag Aus Licht on the first clarinet at Philharmonie de Paris’ Hall Cité de la Musique, and Berio’s L’Orfeo as well.
In 2019 he played for the 1st time a recital in Paris. In 2016, he held a debut recital at Kumho Art Hall in Korea.
