Boeykens Anne

About this project

Anne Boeykens graduated at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp, where she was taught by her world-renowned father Walter Boeykens. Currently, Anne is principal clarinet at Brussels Philarmonic Orchestra. She frequently plays chamber music and is invited to perform at both Belgian and international festivals.

Through her passion for chamber music, Anne also established her own woodwind quintet known as the “Anne Boeykens Formation”. She also performs in duet with pianist Lies Colman.

Together with her father Walter Boeykens, Anne has recorded the fascinating concertos for two clarinets of Hoffmeister, Krommer and the double concertos of Baermann, Ponchielli and Mendelsohn.
The Belgian Composer Jan Van Der Roost composed especially for Anne and her father the ‘Concerto Doppio’ which has been recorded on the CD Colori by EMI Classics.

Lastly, Anne Boeykens is the driving force behind the annual “Bornem Festival Walter Boeykens”, which celebrated its 27th anniversary this year. The festival combines classical compositions with modern day influences, performed at various picturesque locations in the town of Bornem.
